Rockstar Games has launched 39 new screenshots for Grand Theft Auto 6 to celebrate two weeks until its release, revealing new images of Vice City, its residents, strippers, and the acts that Jason and Lucia will be committing there.
The release of GTA 6, after 13 long years, is scheduled for November 19 for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The pre-load is set to start on November 10 and will take 212 GB of space. It is expected to break all records, having already earned around $750 million from pre-orders.
Rockstar’s marketing campaign has been unavoidable lately. The trailer has been constantly broadcast on television, while billboards, posters, and decals have appeared everywhere. Rockstar even managed to transform the city of Miami into a real-life Vice City, taking over the Heat stadium and putting their branding all around the city, selling in-game drinks in bars, and flying a blimp advertising Vice City above the town.
As early as November 18, Rockstar Games will be presenting “A Night in Vice City,” where an NBA game between the Miami Heat, renamed the Vice City Heat, sporting new GTA jerseys on a new court, and the Milwaukee Bucks will be played. Miami clubs have also been turned into GTA clubs in the past few weeks.
And with the release of the images comes another big reveal via a cover story in Edge magazine: the map is twice the size of GTA V, the “order of magnitude more interiors,” the Criminal Profile that records behaviour from “Professional” to “Irredeemable,” and the relationship meter between Jason and Lucia. The police now track the evidence, like clothes and weapons, and escape involves making oneself unrecognisable and not just waiting for the wanted level to expire.
As the co-studio head of Rockstar Games, Rob Nelson puts it, “It ceases to become ours, and it becomes everybody’s.”
