Prince Edward receives Archbishop of Canterbury at St James’s Palace

The Archbishop of Canterbury was among the notable figures Prince Edward welcomed to at St James’s Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh received the Archbishop on 5 November, according to the Court Circular, before holding a trustees’ meeting for the Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, followed by a dinner.

Prince Edward has also been thanked for his recent visit to Finland, where he met young people taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

The Duke visited Havukoski School in Vantaa, where he spent time talking to students about their experiences and the activities they have taken on through the programme.

Sharing photographs from the visit on Instagram, UK in Finland praised his continued support for opportunities that help young people build confidence, develop skills and challenge themselves.

The visit also carried special significance for the award, which was founded in the UK in 1956 and celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.

In Vantaa, the initiative has become part of the city’s school youth work and is already running in six local schools.

It gives students the chance to explore new interests, try unfamiliar activities and develop skills beyond the classroom.
