Jessica Alba has sparked backlash over her Halloween costume.
According to the Daily Express, the actress dressed up as a battered Nancy Kerrigan with her friend as Tonya Harding, recreating one of sports’ most horrific moments. She has since appeared to have deleted her Instagram post showing off the costume.
Alba, 45, dressed as Kerrigan, 57, in a white outfit, ice skates and a bloodstained bandage around her knee. Her friend Kelly Sawyer dressed as Kerrigan’s rival, Tonya Harding, wearing a sparkly maroon ensemble and posing with a baseball bat.
The costumes were a reference to the 1994 incident in which Kerrigan was attacked with a police baton by Shane Stant, who was hired by Harding’s ex-husband. The assault happened shortly before Olympic qualifiers, forcing Kerrigan to withdraw. Harding was never criminally convicted over the attack but received a lifetime ban from the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

The costume choice drew criticism from Alba’s followers, with one commenting, “Immature. We expect better, Jessica.” Another questioned the decision to revisit a traumatic incident, while a third wrote, “Wow, first Martha and now Jessica. Why are we being nasty this Halloween?”
Alba’s deleted post also featured her 8-year-old son Hayes dressed as a vampire. Her daughters, Honor, 18, and Haven, 15, celebrated Halloween too, with Haven sharing her unicorn costume online. Alba has been dating actor Danny Ramirez since separating from ex-husband Cash Warren last year.
