Jack Campbell carted off with neck injury as All-Pro’s status remains uncertain

Lions All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off the field early in the fourth quarter in the Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

He was shifted to a local hospital and reportedly will be under observation overnight for a neck injury.

The Detroit Lions won the game 19-15 over the Vikings on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Campbell was face down on the turf and was not moving after hitting tight end T.J. Hockenson for his third tackle of the game.

He was evaluated by medical staff before being strapped to a backboard and carted off the field.

Detroit’s entire team and most of the coaching staff surrounded the cart before it shifted Campbell off the field for further examination.

Vikings head coach, Dan Campbell updated on Campbell injury postgame, saying, “We’re thinking about him.”

The former Iowa star was the No. 18 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.

Campbell was selected as an All-Pro selection last season after he became the first NFL player in seven years to have posted 150-plus tackles and five sacks and three forced fumbles.

The Lions inked Campbell last May on a four-year contract extension that will last until 2030 season.

The Lions will travel to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 9 on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
