Lenny Kravitz addresses ‘untrue’ reports he died in Florida plane crash

Lenny Kravitz was not on the doomed Learjet 60 flight that crashed in Florida.

The musician’s representative, Carleen Donovan, confirmed to BocaNewsNow that speculation about his death was false.

“The reports are untrue and incorrect,” Donovan told the outlet.

The rumours emerged after a Learjet 60 bound for the Bahamas crashed in Palm Beach County on Sunday, November 1, killing all nine people aboard. Kravitz, 62, was mistakenly linked to the flight after Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton shared a now-deleted Facebook post about flying him on a similar route.

“Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin-Bergstrom International Airport] to [North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas] tomorrow. Looking forward to having him on board,” the post read.

Shelton also denied being the pilot involved in the crash.

“I would like to respectfully clarify I was not,” she wrote. “I ask that people please stop speculating and spreading misinformation on this tragedy and be respectful of those involved. My heart goes out to all those lost and affected.”

The jet crashed near Cresthaven and Greenacres around 12:50 p.m. ET, sparking fires and forcing approximately 600 mobile home residents to evacuate. No one on the ground was injured, while authorities have yet to identify all nine victims.
