“Really Wanted To Like This,” Nauheed Cyrusi Tests Viral Rice Cracker Tiramisu

The internet has a new and favourite way to enjoy tiramisu, and this time, the classic Italian dessert is getting an unexpected twist. The viral rice cracker tiramisu recipe has been making rounds on social media. It swaps ladyfingers with healthy and high-protein rice cakes. Actress Nauheed Cyrusi has joined the trend, giving the much-talked-about recipe a try.

Nauheed, who often experiments with new recipes, took to Instagram to share her review of the viral dessert. To make the rice cracker tiramisu, she first put one spoonful of coffee into a bowl and added some cold water to it. After that, she put one rice cracker into it, but it immediately sank and broke. She tried for the second time and drank another rice cracker, which became instantly soggy, but it did not break.

The actress repeated the steps for three rice crackers, and after all of them were soaked in coffee, she started assembling them. She first placed one soaked rice cracker on the plate and put some hung curd and honey mixture on top.

She then sifted some hot chocolate with the help of a mesh strainer and sprinkled it on top of the hung curd and honey spread. Then she repeated the process twice until she got a mouth-watering coffee-soaked rice cracker stack topped off with hot chocolate. “It looks kaafi (so much) cute, but rice paper raani kabhi jhooth nahi bolti (but rice paper queen never lies),” she said before giving her honest verdict on the viral recipe.

She took a bite, and her reaction was telling. “Really wanted to like this,” she said with disappointment in her face. “It needs sugar. If I added sugar to my coffee, it would have been better; it’s a fail,” she shared.

Posing as a healthier version of the traditional tiramisu, rice cracker tiramisu, like most viral food trends, has divided the internet. While some food lovers enjoy the contrast in textures and find the crackers surprisingly effective at soaking up the coffee and cream, others are not convinced that a savoury, crunchy rice cracker belongs anywhere near tiramisu.
