Nicolas Cage has expressed his regret on crashing Chris Rock’s 2002 interview with Howard Stern, revealing he has apologized to the comedian.
The Lord of War star looked back at the infamous embarrassing moment during a panel discussion at New York Comic Con earlier in October.
Cage said, “I feel very bad about it. And I’ve actually apologized.”
He further said in his defense, “I don’t interrupt people anymore. I had a problem with that in the past.”
Recalling the incident, Cage shared he didn’t know Rock was being interviwed live on the Howard Stern Show at the time.
He explained, “Chris Rock was on the Howard Stern Show and I just crashed the show. I felt terrible. I didn’t know it was Chris. I just showed up. I didn’t want to give Howard time to think about questions to ask.”
Later, when The Longlegs actor met Rock, he told him, “You’re probably the coolest human in all of Hollywood.”
Cage further said gushing over the comedian’s low-key cool behaviour over the incident, “I love Chris and he was nice about it.”
“But yeah, I probably shouldn’t have interrupted,” Cage admitted.
For those unversed, Rock and Stern were in the middle of a live on-air conversation on the Howard Stern Show when Cage walked in as an uninvited guest, catching everyone off guard on set.
