Matt Damon may be the Hollywood star in the family, but at the 2026 CFDA Awards, his daughter Isabella made it clear that she has been giving him advice for years — and he’s been listening.
The father-daughter duo hit the red carpet at New York’s Museum of Natural History on November 2, where they shared a playful exchange with People magazine about who actually gives whom guidance.

“We both have trouble answering questions seriously,” Damon joked when asked about their advice-sharing habits.

“And so I think we advise each other to try to answer questions more seriously,” he added with a laugh.
Isabella, 20, who signed with IMG Models in August, wasn’t about to let her dad take all the credit.
“I feel like I’ve been teaching you, giving you advice for a long time,” she told him.
Damon readily agreed: “For a long time. Yeah, for a long time.”
“And this is part of the natural progression,” Isabella teased, prompting the Good Will Hunting star to joke, “This is where it was bound to wind up.”
Behind the jokes, Damon made it clear how proud he is of his daughter.
“No, she’s a wonderful, wonderful young woman and I don’t give her advice in the sense that I worry about her,” he said. “But I’m really excited to see what she does with her life.”
Isabella turned heads in a white crocheted gown with dramatic fringed sleeves, while Damon wore a Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo.
