King Charles and Queen Camilla reunite with students who brought new pavilion to life

King Charles and Queen Camilla enjoyed a lively visit to Agave Gardens in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

They met local craftspeople, chatted with children and discovered how the island is preserving its natural heritage.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were welcomed by Barbara Japal, president of the Horticultural Society with whom they shared a laugh during their visit to the drought-resistant garden and seedbank known as society’s home.

A video shared by Daily Mail’s royal editor captured the Queen enjoying a cute moment with a group of kids, while the King took time to meet traditional seedworkers, coconut-leaf weavers and basket weavers from the Workshop for the Blind.

Charles also tried lemongrass from the garden’s produce while learning more about the community’s traditional skills and efforts to protect local plant life.

The King’s Foundation shared details of another meaningful engagement at Government House, where Their Majesties visited a new visitor pavilion created by students of the charity.

It was built as part of a live construction project, bringing together young craftspeople and giving them the opportunity to put their skills into practice.

The reunion brought the King back together with students he had met at Dumfries House in the spring.
