King Charles and Queen Camilla are set for a day of national celebrations for Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th annual Independence Parade.
The royal couple will attend the landmark event, which brings together military and uniformed groups for a colourful display of ceremonial marching in honour of the island nation’s independence and national pride.
The celebrations will also give Charles and Camilla the chance to meet some of the country’s most respected figures, with guests recognised for their contributions to public life across culture, sport, education and community service.

Among the highlights will be a meeting with four celebrated West Indies cricket legends: Sir Viv Richards, Sir Richie Richardson, Sir Andy Roberts and Sir Curtly Ambrose.Â
King and Queen will also watch the parade’s closing ceremonial sequence before greeting students attending the occasion.
Festivities will take place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, where the King is also scheduled to hold separate audiences with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams, his official representative in Antigua and Barbuda.
The visit forms the final leg of Charles and Camilla’s nine-day Caribbean tour, with the King preparing for another major engagement on Tuesday when he opens the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), hosted by Antigua and Barbuda.
