Jalen Brunson joins Harry Styles on stage to cap Styles’ MSG residency

Harry Styles brings plenty of fame to the stage as-is, but the superstar singer-songwriter’s Saturday night performance at Madison Square Garden got an extra boost in star power from a guest plenty familiar with the Garden’s spotlight.

Star New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson.

Saturday night marked the 30th show of Styles’ Together, Together residency, and he was joined on stage by Brunson, who presented Styles with a commemorative banner for the residency. Brunson, who was received with uproarious “MVP” chants from the home crowd, rocked a hat emblazoned with “TECHNO IS MY BOYFRIEND,” which Styles has been known to don himself.

“Can you just make a note, we’re almost as tall as each other,” Styles joked when the two greeted each other on stage.

“And, yes, I will return your hat,” Brunson responded.

It’s not the first time during Styles’ residency that Brunson has made an appearance. The newly minted NBA champion had already attended two of Styles’ previous shows during his stretch of performances at the Garden, getting a shoutout from the singer on Sept. 12.

“We may or may not have the King of New York in the house tonight … Mr. Jalen Brunson,” Styles said during the show. “He’s just trying to have a quiet night out — not a chance. Not in this city. It’s like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland.”

Brunson will return to his own Madison Square Garden stage Monday when the Knicks host the Brooklyn Nets.
