Kate Gosselin is facing fresh allegations from her estranged son Collin.
He has shared some disturbing details of his childhood in his memoir, In the Shadow of Eight.
Collin, who rose to fame on TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8, claims the alleged abuse began while the family was filming their reality television series. “We were redoing takes, it was like, ‘Cry a little harder, laugh a little louder,’ and that’s what caused me to say I don’t want to be a part of this machine anymore.”
Recalling one incident, Collin said, “My mom had pulled me out of my room by my earlobe, and my ear was purple and swollen.”
“My teacher saw it. I went and talked to my guidance counselor and told them about it. And my mom was not very happy that I spoke about that,” he added.
He further alleged that Kate zip-tied his hands and feet before he was eventually removed from the family home and placed in an institution.
Furthermore, Collin claimed that he had no contact with his family during the period and was prescribed medication. “I was told this is for your own good.”
It is pertinent to mention that Kate Gosselin has strongly denied the accusations, describing them as “unfounded,” and calls Collin a “very troubled young man.”
