This classic Middle Eastern dessert, layered with crisp phyllo, nuts, and fragrant syrup, is easier to make than it seems.
With the right technique and ingredients, you can recreate authentic, melt-in-your-mouth baklava in your own kitchen.
Ingredients
For Layering: 250 gram phyllo pastry, 200 gram mixed nuts (finely chopped), 150 gram unsalted butter (melted)
For Syrup: ¾ cup sugar, ½ cup water, ¼ cup honey, 1 tablespoon juice

Next, spread nuts evenly and continue layering pastry on top.

Cut into portions and bake at 180 degree celsius for 40-45 minutes until golden.

Combine sugar, water, honey, and lemon juice in a pan, then simmer gently until it forms a smooth, fragrant syrup.

Now, pour the warm syrup over hot baklava and rest for several hours before serving!

Once baked and soaked in syrup, your baklava is ready to enjoy. Serve it slightly warm or at room temperature, and savor the perfect balance of crisp layers, nutty filling, and sweet, sticky syrup—a truly indulgent homemade treat.
