The Duchess of Edinburgh was pictured in her element on the slopes as she visited The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead to meet athletes from her new patronage.
Sophie as always looked elegant in a soft pink blazer, teamed with a green handbag, as she spent time with members of the team’s alpine, snowboard and Nordic ski disciplines.
She also joined the athletes on the indoor pistes, taking on several ski runs herself during the visit.
The new video saw the Duchess heard about the extraordinary paths that have brought many of the athletes to para-snowsport.
Several began their journeys with the team after sustaining serious injuries while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, going on to find a new sense of purpose through competitive sport.
One of those athletes is Steve Arnold, a Paralympian and former Royal Engineer who was injured in Afghanistan in 2011.
He is now preparing for an ambitious challenge that will take him and his teammates across Norway’s remote Finnmarksvidda plateau in March 2027.
Speaking to BFBS, Arnold said the team wanted to do more than simply ask sponsors to fund their work.
