Who said finding good food and drinks in Mumbai means you have to spend long hours on the road or fighting for your life on the trains? Instead, look closer to home, as several new spots are coming to you, their customers, instead of the other way around.
From Italian food to delicious coffee and quirky hangout spots, the suburbs of Mumbai are evolving. Here’s a list of new restaurants that have opened up in the suburbs of Mumbai that are serving up great coffee, continental food, cocktails and more:
Nova House, Mira Road
If you’re looking for a new space that brings together good food, relaxed luxury, and an inviting ambience, Nova House makes a compelling addition to Mira Road’s hospitality scene. Designed as a premium yet approachable destination, this newly launched property blends dining, lounging, and stay experiences under one thoughtfully curated roof.
The all-day dining restaurant offers a comfort-led menu perfect for everything from casual meals to intimate evenings, while the warm interiors, cozy lighting, and contemporary design make it ideal for slow dinners and long conversations.
The Munchbox Thali, BorivaliÂ
Wholesome, homestyle Indian meals served with warmth and generosity – that’s what is being served at MunchBox Thali. This newly launched thali-focused restaurant celebrates familiar flavours, hearty portions, and the simple joy of a well-served traditional meal. Expect comforting, well-balanced thalis packed with regional favourites, seasonal specials, and thoughtfully prepared accompaniments, all served in a lively yet welcoming space designed for relaxed family lunches and satisfying everyday dining.
Toscano, MaladÂ
Toscano has masterfully translated the regional traditions and culinary philosophy of Tuscany for the modern diner in Mumbai. They’ve recently opened a new outlet in Malad and are serving up artisanal sourdough pizzas, sophisticated multi-course meals, creamy pastas, and it is complemented by a premier beverage program. Their menu features thin crispy crusts, a beloved Spaghetti Aglio Olio, the Insalata di Formaggio di capra e pere, and Chicken di Toscano stuffed with spinach and ricotta, which is a signature dish. Complete your meal with desserts like the house-special Tiramisu or Kahlua Mousse, another crowd favourite.
Radio Bar, Malad
Marking its second outlet in Mumbai, Radio Bar continues to scale as a high-energy, music-driven themed bar format built around nostalgia, performance and community. Located in the heart of Malad, the new outlet is a dynamic, all-day social destination designed to transition seamlessly from afternoon meetings and casual lunches to high-energy evenings. The alfresco section adds a softer outdoor setting suited for daytime conversations and early evening drinks. Programming remains central, with signature Chitrahaar nights celebrating nostalgic Bollywood sounds and Unplugged nights spotlighting live performers and emerging musicians. The food menu balances comfort and familiarity, and includes dishes like Avocado Truffle Bruschetta served on a cheddar jalapeño baguette, Three Cheese Aloo Kulcha Bombs, Dan Dan Chicken wok-tossed with soy, Sichuan pepper and chilli oil, Picante Prawns finished with naga chilli pineapple glaze and tom yum pickle Kewpie, and the Pizza Ma-Ka-Bo. The beverage program leans into familiar Indian flavours interpreted through a contemporary bar lens, while also offering coffee and tea throughout the day.
Public Bar, Versova
The team behind Bonobo has launched Public, a no-reservations beer hall and snack bar in Versova. It is envisioned as a fuss-free neighbourhood hangout inspired by iconic Indian beer halls, nostalgic gymkhanas and old-world Irani cafés. PUBLIC Beer Hall & Snack Bar is built around simple pleasures – cold beer & straight spirits, tasty Indian regional snacks, and a place you can come back to again and again. Public aims to be a convivial, affordable space for extended drinking sessions and everyday good times. Staying true to that philosophy, Chef Sohini Bhattacharya’s hyper-regional menu is intentionally designed to pair effortlessly with long drinking sessions. The snacks menu features – Touchings, Snacks, Sigri/Tawa, Tangra/Mountain classics and a few Chef’s favourites and a handful of meal options for the ravenous tippler.
Coffee Capital, Versova
Coffee Capital, a newly opened neighbourhood café in Versova, is approaching speciality coffee from a flavour-first lens. Founded by Tuhin Ghosh, Coffee Capital works with single-origin Indian Arabica beans, but what stands out is how the coffee drinks, not how it’s explained. Its menu inlcudes several unique creations like Brown Butter Cappuccino, Whiskey Barrel–Aged Coffee hints of oak, caramel, and malt with a subtle whiskey finish; Noble Nectar with layered notes of guava, pineapple, and milk chocolate and the Tiramisu is made using the café’s signature Rum barrel-aged coffee. The space is born out of years of travel and an evolving perspective on how coffee can be experienced, appreciated, and enjoyed. The beans are sourced from India’s evolving coffee regions such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Nagaland, alongside a rotating selection of international microlots. The intent is not just to serve coffee but to make its journey from farm to cup more visible and engaging for the drinker.
