Donald Trump Jr. is reportedly set to marry Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas over the Memorial Day weekend.
President Trump announced his son’s engagement to the 39 year-old Anderson at the White House in December.
However, in the Oval Office on Thursday, the president suggested that he may not be able to attend the ceremony due to his work commitments as commander-in-chief.
“He’d like me to go,” Trump said. “I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.”
Two people familiar with the pair’s upcoming wedding told CNN that Anderson and Trump Jr. plan marry on a small island.
The sources claimed that the guest list will only include immediate family and the couple’s closest friends, with less than 50 people expected to attend.
The president is not expected to attend in part due to the couple’s desire to have a private ceremony, CNN added, though Trump Jr.’s siblings are said to be among the guests.
Speculation about Anderson and Trump Jr.’s romance sparked in September 2024 after the couple was spotted holding hands — despite the fact that the father of five had not publicly called off his six-year engagement to former political commentator and U.S. ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Before his relationship with Guilfoyle, 57, Trump Jr. had been married to the mother of his five children, Vanessa Trump, who has since moved on with Tiger Woods.
Vanessa Trump this week announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Who is Bettina Anderson?
Anderson has described herself as a “typical stay-at-home mom,” on her Instagram account, albeit one without “household chores, a husband or kids.”
The socialite has modeled for magazines and is a third-generation resident of Palm Beach, The New York Times reports.
She is the daughter of the late Harry Loy Anderson Jr., who became the youngest bank president in the country at the age of 26 and passed away in 2013.
Anderson has worked for the Paradise Fund, a charity she founded with young philanthropists to protect Florida’s environment.
After The Mail reported that Trump Jr. and Anderson had been seen kissing in September 2024, the publication reported in December that the pair were seen holding hands in Palm Beach.
At the time, Trump Jr. had not publicly called off his engagement to Guilfoyle.
Later that year Trump Jr. told Page Six he and Guilfoyle “will always keep a special bond.”He added that he could not be “more proud” of his former partner and the “important role she’ll continue to play in my father’s administration” as ambassador to Greece.
In January 2025, Anderson and Trump Jr. attended inaugural events for the newly relected president together. Since then, they have made a slew of public appearances together.
