US Health Secretary Kennedy Jr. launches own cooking show: Here’s what’s on the menu

United States (U.S.) Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has launched his own cooking show named The Real Food Show, which appears to be a part of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement.

The 72-year-old aims to teach Americans how to cook healthy and inexpensive meals with one serving costing less than $5. He warned his viewers to be ready to eat anything, saying, “I don’t have a gag reflex.”

The opening episode of the show featured Kennedy Jr. alongside celebrity chef Andrew Gruel, as both joined forces to prepare delicious-looking salmon cakes, with apple, white bean and greens salad.

Speaking to USA Today, the health and human services secretary revealed that his show will also feature recipes from his fermented favourites, including kimchi and sauerkraut.

The show will also help the public familiarize themselves with new dietary guidelines released in January, which encourages cutting back on sugar and processed foods and eating more protein.

The Republican politician said: “When we published the dietary guidelines, there was immediately sort of a good reaction, but also trepidation from the public and from critics saying that this food is a lot more expensive than the ultra-processed food that we’ve been eating. And that’s not true.”

Viewers can watch the show on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. YouTube page.
