Avi Nash has joined the cast of Disinherited, the FX and Hulu drama series from Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould, adding to an ensemble already featuring Victoria Pedretti and Kiera Allen in the lead roles.
Disinherited follows two sisters, Sarah, played by Allen, and Marian, played by Pedretti, whose lives are toppled when an unexpected inheritance thrusts them into a world of generational wealth and long-buried family secrets.
The series was picked up straight to series at FX earlier this year following a pilot order, with Gould writing, directing and executive producing alongside Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue of T-Street.
FX Entertainment president Gina Balian praised the project when it was greenlit, calling it “exactly the kind of bold, character-driven storytelling that defines FX,” and describing it as “a deeply human story about family, power and consequence, that plays with high moral stakes.”
Nash, best known for playing Siddiq on The Walking Dead across five seasons, joins a supporting cast that already includes Karl Glusman as a paralegal assisting the sisters with their inheritance case, Succession‘s Alan Ruck as a powerful attorney handling the estate, Evil‘s Katja Herbers as the mother of a boy connected to the family’s fortune, alongside Eddie Marsan and Jonathan Higginbotham.
Details of Nash’s specific role have not yet been disclosed.
Disinherited joins a crowded FX drama slate that includes American Horror Story, Alien: Earth, The Beauty, The Lowdown and an upcoming Snowfall spinoff.
No premiere date has yet been set for the series.
