Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reminded to build their identity away from the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have only gotten commercial deals due to their royal tag until this day, I told to try out new ways of career progression.
“The Royal Family is obviously the elephant in the room,” PR expert Mayah Riaz told the Mirror. “It is extremely difficult to build a completely separate celebrity identity when so much public interest in Harry and Meghan still comes from their relationship with the institution they left.
“There is also a perception among some members of the public that there has been too much focus on grievances and not enough distance from them. Whether Harry and Meghan agree with that, perception is almost irrelevant from a PR point. Perception becomes reality when it is repeated often enough,” she notes.
Prince Harry left the Royal Family back in 2020 alongside wife Meghan Markle and son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showcasing racism towards their son and publicly shared their grievances on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
