Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would’ve made their debut as a couple at this year’s Met Gala.
However, they decided to skip the fashion event, which takes place annually on the first Monday of May.
As it marks the 10th year of Swift skipping Met Gala, TMZ last year reported that the couple declined the invite due to their busy schedule.
It is pertinent to mention that Swift last attended the event in 2016. She had attended the event only six times in the past.
Fans had their hopes of the pair stepping out as fiancés as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engaged in August 2025.
Now that the couple is said to be planning their wedding, speculations surrounding the details of their big day have been swirling.
Swift herself shared in an interview that her wedding will be “huge” especially because she didn’t want to decide who does and who doesn’t make to the guest list.
Reports have suggested that the couple is set to tie the knot in New York City on July 3, 2026.
“The inspiration that I found in that city is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I’ve ever experienced,” Swift had said about the city that never sleeps.
Notably, the expected guests include Gigi Hadid, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, and Gracie Abrams.
