Taylor Swift had a huge surprise in waiting for her fans on Tuesday—a brand-new single, Patient Zero set to release on September 25.
She shared the announcement on Instagram, writing that she’d been “impatiently waiting” to share the news.
Known for hiding easter eggs for fans to decode, Swift first teased fans by changing her Instagram bio quietly changed the letter “O” in “show business for you” to a zero, with fans noticing a similar swap in the Apple Music lyrics for “The Life of a Showgirl.”
She also put up a countdown timer on her website. It remains unclear whether Patient Zero is a standalone release or a preview of new music to come.
Swift’s most recent album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” came out in October 2025 with tracks believed to reference her relationship with husband Travis Kelce, including Wood and WiℎLit.
