Taylor Swift approved Phoebe Bridgers’s new album ‘An Absolute Triumph’

Taylor Swift is showing love to Phoebe Bridgers’s long-awaited new album, calling Lost Weekend “an absolute triumph” in a heartfelt Instagram Stories tribute posted on Bridgers’s birthday.

“It’s her birthday but she gave us a gift,” Swift wrote.

“Haven’t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way. To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty. Happy Bday I love you!!”

Lost Weekend marks Bridgers’s first solo studio album since 2020’s Punisher, arriving after a six-year gap that included the formation of Saddest Factory Records, the massive success of her supergroup boygenius, and an extended period out of the public eye through 2025.

Released August 14 via Dead Oceans, the album leans heavily on the 2023 death of Bridgers’s father, exploring grief, love, isolation and the weight of fame, while expanding her signature indie-folk sound with touches of electronica and ambient production.

Longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska returned to produce, with additional contributions from Jack Antonoff, Alex G, Bo Burnham, Cameron Winter, and boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

Swift and Bridgers’s friendship dates back to 2021, when Swift featured Bridgers on Nothing New, a vault track from Red (Taylor’s Version).

Bridgers later opened several stops on Swift’s Eras Tour in 2023, and the two attended a friend’s wedding together in the UK just this past weekend.
