Tate McRae and New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes are reportedly no longer together, following months of speculation about the status of their relationship.
The pair, who were first linked in November 2025 after being spotted at dinner in New York City, kept their romance largely private throughout, with sources describing them as exclusively dating by early this year.
Split rumors began circulating more seriously on August 4, when celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi raised questions about the relationship’s status.
Notably, in a Variety profile published just one day earlier, on August 3, McRae addressed her approach to keeping her personal life private without directly confirming or denying anything about Hughes specifically.
“I try to keep my relationships as sacred and private as possible,” she said, adding, “I love the people in my life. They love me. You just try to keep that circle as positive and supportive as possible. And the outside noise, I can’t do anything about that. Focusing my energy on something that I can’t control, it just puts me in a bad mood.”
Neither McRae nor Hughes has publicly confirmed a breakup.
The relationship had already drawn outside attention beyond typical celebrity romance coverage, McRae faced some backlash tied to her association with Hughes after his Olympic teammates were seen reacting to a joke from President Trump following their gold medal win, fueling online speculation about her political leanings, which she addressed indirectly in the same Variety interview.
McRae was previously in a long-term relationship with musician the Kid Laroi, which she confirmed ending in a December 2025 interview with Rolling Stone.
