Rod Stewart has canceled all remaining dates of his One Last Time Tour after undergoing a routine coronary stent procedure.
In a statement shared with People magazine on Tuesday, a representative for the legendary singer said that Rod is not able to perform as he recovers from surgery.
“Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities,” the statement read. “On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage.”
“Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates,” said the rep.
Meanwhile, Rod also assured his fans that he is “doing well and very much on the mend.”
“I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me,” the 81-year-old singer said in a statement.
“I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon,” he added.
For those unversed, Rod was scheduled to be on the road through September 3, with six Las Vegas residency dates slated for late August.
