Prince Harry is celebrating his 42nd birthday back in the UK, six years after making California his home with friends.
Rather than taking the day entirely off, Harry has been keeping busy, spending the morning working before enjoying a late lunch with friends.
A source told HELLO!: “He’s spent it working this morning and then having a late lunch with friends.”
His return to Britain has given the birthday an added significance, with Harry now able to spend more time around friends and family after years living thousands of miles away.
Royal Editor Emily Nash said the Duke “will be delighted to be spending his birthday back in the UK”.
“He’s wanted to be back here for a long time and will be making the most of being closer to friends and family,” she explained.
He is due to attend the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards, the launch of INSPIRE, a new education programme connected to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, and the WellChild Awards.
A friend previously told the outlet that he would be doing “the same as what he’s been doing in California”, only with more opportunities to meet people in person.
“When the kids are at school, he’ll be on calls and having meetings with his patronages and organisations, but some of those can now be face-to-face,” the friend said.
“They’ve talked about returning for a long time and there’s no one thing that’s drawn them back, but all the pieces of the puzzle have landed at the right time. All of those things have to align,” the friend explained.
