Hollywood icon Dame Judi Dench revealed how a cruel comment from a Hollywood producer made her lose confidence in her looks when she was just starting out as actress.
The 91-year-old star shared the story in her new memoir, Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It?
She was only 23 when she was invited to meet a big Hollywood producer at his office in London.
During that meeting, the producer looked at her and told her that she would never make a film because there was something wrong with every part of her face.

Although he was polite while saying it, his words were hard for the young actress to forget.
Dench, however, decided not to argue with him and calmly left the meeting. She returned to the theatre, thinking she could now put all her time into becoming a theatre actress.
Her career, moreover, then took a very different turn as she went on to become a major film star, playing M in the James Bond movies and Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love, which won her an Oscar.

Despite her success, Dench admitted that the producer’s words stayed with her and still affect how she feels about acting in films.
