Nicole Kidman breaks silence after ‘Practical Magic 2’ mixed reviews

Nicole Kidman isn’t letting the Practical Magic 2 reviews ruin her spell.

After the long-awaited sequel landed in theaters on September 18 and received a mixed response, Kidman took to Instagram with a very different message: she’s already missing her witchy crew.

“Already missing my girls. Come spend some time together for us this weekend #PracticalMagic2,” the actress captioned a 19-slide carousel packed with behind-the-scenes moments.

The photos offered fans a peek at Kidman, Sandra Bullock, Joey King, Maisie Williams and the rest of the cast between takes, with plenty of on-set chemistry and magical-looking scenery thrown in for good measure.

The sequel brings Kidman and Bullock back as sisters Gillian and Sally Owens, nearly three decades after the original Practical Magic. This time, Sally is dealing with the death of her husband, Gary, while trying to protect her daughters from the pain — and the magic — surrounding their family.

That grief-focused storyline has sparked plenty of discussion among viewers, even as reactions to the sequel remain divided.

Kidman also recently opened up about handling criticism and social media, explaining that the platforms allow her to have more control over her own story.

“I mean, that is direct, so you don’t have a kind of wall between you if you don’t want it. If you do, you can put it up, or you can go back and forth (at) different times.”

And judging by her latest post, Kidman seems more interested in celebrating the cast than getting caught up in the reviews.

Fans, meanwhile, are already asking the obvious question: Could Practical Magic 3 be next?
