Michael J. Fox got candid about his longtime friend George Stephanopoulos.
George was presented with the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars alongside Robin Roberts in recognition of their contribution to television and journalism, during a ceremony in Los Angeles on November 5, 2026.
However, his decades-old friend Michael J. Fox revealed a hilarious detail about the veteran broadcaster during his tribute speech, “One of the funny thing about being with George all these years is when he calls you at 7 in the morning it’s to make lunch plans and dinner is 5:30 and he’s running out the door at like 6:00. I just think it’s a ruse to not pay the bill.”
The veteran actor further jokingly said that they both are “men of average height” and “we’re both lousy golfers,” noting, “Our families go on vacation together, we went to Greece twice. If you ever want to be invisible, go to Greece with George Stephanopoulos. No one will ever see you.”
Michael also noted that George is deeply committed to his work and, “he’s proud of the work he gets to do.”
“He loves the people who love who watch him every day and I’ve seen him on several occasions have a chat with them and leave them happier than he found them,” adding, “Unless you’re Greek, in which case they tear his clothes and cut up [snips] from his hair and he’s got a lot of hair.”
Ending his speech on a sweet note, the film star said, “Congratulations, George; keep living a blessed life.”
“I love you and I love your family and I couldn’t be more thrilled than to see you have a star on the Walk of Fame,” he added further.
It is pertinent to mention here that the event was also attended by George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts ’ families and friends, including Michael J. Fox, Michael Strahan, and Niecy Nash-Betts.
