Former Manchester City midfielder David Silva marked his return from retirement with a goal and the player of the match award for Hong Kong side Supreme Sha Tin on Saturday.
Silva, who made 309 appearances for City in a glittering 10-year Premier League career, retired in 2023 but announced last month he would return to the pitch with the Hong Kong club.
And in his first game since ending his career at Real Sociedad three years ago, Silva scored from the penalty spot in 84 minutes of action that saw him named player of the match against Hong Kong Rangers.
With the game level in the 56th minute, Silva stepped up to the penalty spot and put Supreme Sha Tin in front with a composed finish into the bottom left corner.
Hong Kong Rangers went on to equalise as the contest ended 1-1, leaving Supreme Sha Tin in ninth out of 12 teams in the top-flight.
Silva recorded 125 caps for Spain during his storied career with spells at Valencia and Sociedad as well as his 11 major honours at City, preceding his return in Hong Kong.
