LEGO has launched its biggest construction set to date, with over 12,000 pieces and a retail price almost $800, providing fans with the challenge of building one of the world’s most iconic architectural structures.
The Danish toy manufacturer has unveiled its new collection of 12,060 pieces that will allow builders to create a small version of the iconic basilica in Barcelona, Spain and will be available on November 1.
The model is $799.99 in the U.S., £649.99 in the U.K. and €749.99 throughout Europe.
The finished product contains detailed towers, elaborate facades and colourful stained glass windows to look like those in the original building.
The set also portrays the process of the basilica’s construction starting from its crypt and gradually adding the facades, interior sections and towers.
The latest release is the company’s largest set in terms of number of pieces, with 12,060 pieces, compared to the previous record holder, the World Map with 11,695 pieces.
The launch coincides with the 100th death anniversary of Antoni GaudÃ, the Spanish architect who dedicated much of his career to designing the Sagrada FamÃlia.
Construction of the real basilica began in 1882, and despite more than a century of work, some decorative elements remain unfinished.
LEGO designer Rok Zgalin Kobe described recreating the landmark as a challenging task because of its architectural complexity.
The company first unveiled the set in June 2026 before making it available for purchase worldwide this month.
Designed primarily for adults, the model is part of LEGO’s Architecture collection, which features miniature versions of famous buildings and landmarks.
