Knicks Celebrate Their N.B.A. Title on ‘The Tonight Show’

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

When Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks star, appeared on “The Tonight Show” in 2024, he promised Jimmy Fallon he’d bring back the trophy once the basketball team won an N.B.A. championship. On Monday, he made good on that vow, joining his newly crowned teammates before a crowd of screaming superfans with the trophy in hand.

“It sounds like Game 5 in San Antonio here,” Jimmy Fallon said.

“Of course it’s the Knicks, so they won’t really show up until the second half.” — JIMMY FALLON

“And if that’s not enough, we’ve got music from Wu-Tang Clan tonight. Yeah, right now, backstage smells extra celebratory, you know what I’m saying?” — JIMMY FALLON

Spike Lee, a huge fan of the Knicks, rushed the stage to usher the team out in a confetti-filled celebration.

“Let’s go, we’ve been waiting 53 years!” Lee said.

“This is ‘The Tonight Show’ where the champions go. Ladies and gentleman, put your hands together for the kings of the comeback, a team of history, a team of destiny, our dream team, please welcome the 2026 N.B.A. World Champions, your New York Knicks!” — JIMMY FALLON

“The New York Knicks on Saturday defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win their first N.B.A. championship in 53 years. People celebrated in the streets, singing and dancing till the wee hours. But the real, old-school Knick fans are still worried there might be a Game 6.” — SETH MEYERS

“The last time New York City cheered like that was when Trump announced he wouldn’t attend Game 4.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Our mayor is Muslim, our bagels are Jewish, our Timothée’s Chalamet, Knicks in five.” — JON STEWART, referring to a chant that went viral during the N.B.A. finals.

Ana Gasteyer talked about being nominated for a Tony Award alongside her friend and “Schmigadoon!” co-star Rachel Dratch on Monday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Will Ferrell, the co-creator and star of “The Hawk,” will appear on Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
