Washington Commanders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament and will miss the remainder of the preseason, Commanders Coach Dan Quinn said Sunday.
Mariota injured his knee during the first quarter of the Commanders’ 20-7 win over the Miami Dolphins in their preseason opener Friday at Northwest Stadium. He initially stayed in the game but left after further examination. Starting quarterback Jayden Daniels didn’t play.
