Jamie Lee Curtis has revealed that she has been staying close to her late pals Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s kids Jake and Romy since their passing.
Almost a year after Rob and Michelle’s murder, the 67-year-old actress told Extra that she has been supporting Jake, and Romy in the months following her longtime friends’ deaths.
“Of course, I mean, we are family,” Jamie said of Rob and Michele’s kids.
The Freaky Friday star continued, “Something like this brings people so much closer. Like Jake and I were sitting shoulder-to-shoulder doing an interview…. and just feeling him there is emotional, and then of course him talking about his parents and their fantastic relationship.”
The Newlyweds actress then touched upon how the grieving family is till coping up with loss.
“There hasn’t been a big public memorial yet, and so we’re all grieving,” Jamie added.
This came after Jamie paid a heartfelt tribute to Rob and Michelle at the 78th Emmy Awards during a memoriam segment.
Recalling the sentimental moment she told Hollywood Reporter last month, “I felt a responsibility to represent everyone — strangers, fans, colleagues, friends, close friends and family — in that moment at the Emmys.”
“I was happy to do it, but it was a little tougher than I anticipated,” she further added.
For those unversed, Rob and his wife Michele Reiner were stabbed to death at their residence in Los Angeles on December 14, 2025.
Their son Nick Reiner is facing two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, but he pleaded not guilty to the charges. The 32-year-old is still in police custody without bail.
