Isha Ambani wore a Chanel saree-inspired gown
Isha Ambani is a champion of Indian garments and traditional crafts. The entrepreneur has always made it a point to represent Indian crafts to the world and shine a light on kaarigars, their generational handcrafts and their art.
So, when it came to attending the star-studded ‘Vogue Values: Women of Excellence’ event in Mumbai on February 17, Isha Ambani donned a saree. However, it was no ordinary saree. This event was also attended by several stars, fashion figures, and sports personalities, including actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Twinkle Khanna, Jacqueline Fernandes; Indian track and field athlete Jyothi Yarraji; and designer Anita Dongre, to name a few.
The daughter of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani is fashion personified. The mum of one wore a Chanel gown that was the French luxury fashion house’s take on this traditional Indian attire. This all-white saree-inspired gown was simple but made a statement like no other. It made Isha Ambani stand out in a sea of modern looks, as this elevated the saree into an ensemble that carries the traditional touch of an Indian saree with the craft of French fashion.
The Grecian gown is part of the spring/summer 2024 haute couture collection of the French luxury fashion house, Chanel. Isha Ambani served style and class at the Vogue event recently. She definitely made heads turn with her outfit, while her simplicity and grace warmed the hearts of those present at the event. Isha Ambani even stopped to get papped.
The Chanel gown draws inspiration from the brand’s founder, Gabrielle Chanel, with its light and bright ivory colour palette. The ivory gown is made with a textured fabric and drapes at the shoulder. The pleated bodice emulates the typical saree pallu but in a stylish and modern look. It also has a peek-a-boo blouse adorned with a sheer embroidered panel and silver adornments. The blouse also has an asymmetrical sleeve, with one falling off the shoulder. On the side of the dress, a few selected embellished buttons add a touch of glamour and a thigh-high slit on the flowy skirt of the dress adds oomph while looking class.
Isha Ambani chose minimal yet show-stealing luxurious jewels to accessorize her look. She wore diamond chandelier earrings with emerald-cut diamond center stones. She also added a few statement rings featuring a diamond, while silver-embellished slingback heels from Santonia rounded off the accessories.
As for her long, silky black tresses, Isha chose to leave them loose in a centre parting and styled with soft waves. Lastly, for the glam, she opted for glossy brown lips, a dusting of blush and muted smoky eye shadow, with a light coat of mascara on the lashes.
