Nicolas Cage is sharing an update on his living situation after a massive sinkhole damaged his Malibu mansion in September.
Speaking at L.A. Comic Con on Saturday, October 31, the 62-year-old actor revealed he won’t be able to accommodate Halloween trick-or-treaters because he’s “homeless.”
“I’m currently a little bit homeless,” Cage said. “Something happened to my house in Malibu so I’m just sort of living in hotels so I don’t have normal trick or treaters I would like to enjoy tonight.”

Despite the disruption, the National Treasure star planned to take his 4-year-old daughter, August, trick-or-treating in Santa Monica before settling down to watch Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic The Shining after she went to bed.
Cage’s $10.5 million beachfront property suffered severe damage in September after heavy rain and coastal erosion caused the ground to collapse around the home. Images showed a massive hole where the driveway once stood, with cracked asphalt and concrete swallowed by the sinkhole.
The damage also forced evacuations across the neighbourhood. According to the New York Post, seven nearby homes were deemed unsafe, while another 24 faced restrictions because emergency vehicles could no longer access the properties safely.
