US actress Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday, has reportedly suffered apparent ‘overdose’, it has been claimed.
The actress was unresponsive as ‘Advanced Life Support’ was administered before death, the People has reported.
Hayden Panettiere, famed for roles in television shows such as “Nashville” and “Heroes,” died aged 36, her family said in a statement issued by her publicist on Sunday.
The report claims, citing the dispatch audio, that officials were heard discussing an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” around the time of Panettiere’s death.
The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner’s Office are leading the investigation into her death.
The spokesperson for the Greenville Police Department tells the outlet, “The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
“An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.”
She shot to fame playing a high school cheerleader with superpowers, Claire Bennet, on NBC‘s serialized hit “Heroes,” which debuted in 2006.
She also appeared in the 2000 football drama “Remember the Titans,” starring Denzel Washington.
“We join in mourning the sudden passing of Hayden Panettiere,” the screen actors’ union SAG-AFTRA, which counted her as a member since 1994, said in a statement. “Our hearts are with her daughter, family, friends and fans.”
