Jodie Sweetin looked back at time when she struggling to find acting opportunities and how she learned the importance of humility while working at Target.
The Full House star was a teenager when her hit sitcom ended and in the years that followed, she faced challenges with drug and alcohol addiction and struggled to find steady acting work.
After getting sober in 2011 Jodie took a job as a logistics coordinator at a treatment centre in Los Angeles. She said she had no problem leaving the entertainment industry for a regular job.
She told the We’re Still Here, Babe podcast, “I didn’t have ego about it. I didn’t care that I was quote unquote working a normal job. I think other people again were like, ‘What are you doing here?’ And I was like, ‘Paying my bills. Kids don’t pay for themselves.’”
Jodie also detailed how the experience taught her humility.
“And not like I was ever a materialistic person but you learn humility when you are at Target and you’ve got to turn around and, you know, put some s*** back, ‘cause you don’t have the money on your debit card.”
The actress said she eventually became happy with her life and decided to make the best of her circumstances.
Jodie’s acting career once again picked up when Fuller House launched on Netflix in 2016.
But Jodie was still struggling financially saying that she had only $190 in her bank account before receiving her first paycheck.
