Foster mother faces murder charges in death of 10-year-old West Philly girl

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s office has charged a foster mother in the death of a 10-year-old girl, Malayshia Allford.

After a 10-day-long search, the Philly police officials found the body of the teen inside a car at the Stonington Court Apartments in Lindenwold, New Jersey at around 11 p.m on November 4, 2026.

The Pennsylvania Police Department was able to track down the suspected car using the CCTV footage obtained from the day Malayshia Allford went missing.

The police officials believed the car was used to move Allford’s body.

It led to the locating of an unidentified person who then helped the investigators to trace Alford’s body, according to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski.

Malayshia went missing on October 22, when she was last spotted at the home of the foster mother, Carprice Williams, in the area of 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philly.

Announcing the charges on Thursday, November 4, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said the girl’s foster mother, Carprice Williams, 36, has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and several related offences.

A medical examiner concluded that the 10-year-old died from blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled a homicide.

The investigation began after Williams reportedly told police that Malayshia didn’t return home from school and was not picking up the calls.
