Dolly Parton is planning for Reba McEntire’s big day.
The country legend is reportedly assisting McEntire with her upcoming wedding plans.
For those unaware, McEntire got engaged to Rex Linn on December 24, 2024, and is now said to be looking forward to marrying her longtime sweetheart.
Reflecting on Parton’s recent health issues, an insider told Radar Online that it has been difficult for her to be housebound, saying, “Being stuck at home while she recovers has been very hard for Dolly because she’s just not used to sitting still for this long.”
They further added that this wedding planning is helping her as a distraction from recent troubles, “So she’s thrilled to have something to take her mind off her troubles.”
About the singer-songwriter’s grief, which came along with the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March 2025, the insider said, “You’d think the last thing she’d want to do is plan a wedding as she’s still grieving the loss of Carl.”
However, they noted that despite McEntire wanting to keep it low-key, Parton is “encouraging Reba to have a big wedding because they have so many friends and Dolly loves the idea of throwing a huge party.”
Noting, “Reba says she wants to keep it low-key but when Dolly is involved it’s hard to keep anything low-key.”
It is pertinent to mention that since September 2025, Dolly Parton has gone through several health challenges, including kidney stones, digestive and immune-system issues.
