David Arquette drops his ‘Never Been Kissed’ sequel idea

David Arquette teased a twist for Never Been Kissed’s possible follow-up film.

David starred in the iconic Never Been Kissed in 1991 in which he portrayed the character of Rob Geller who was around 23 years old who disguised himself as a high school student to help his sister.

Now, speaking with People Magazine, the actor said reliving his role “would be fun.”

He also said that some of the 1991’s romantic comedy’s relationship storylines have become outdated, stating, “It’s a little tricky because it doesn’t hold up as far as… The film does, but the sort of stuff behind it, a student dating — or not dating a teacher, but you know,”

He went on to say, “And my character was older and kind of dating [high school students].”

Presenting a fun storyline for the movie’s sequel, the Hollywood star said, “I think that would be interesting [to revisit]… I always think a fun pitch would be my character’s getting out of jail, and I’m really upset with my sister because it was because of her that I had this stupid idea.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the follow-up film of the Never Been Kissed is not confirmed by filmmakers or studio.

However, alongside David, the rom-com featured a star studded cast including Drew Barrymore, Michael Vartan, Leelee Sobieski and Molly Shannon with many others.
