Colin Firth’s ex-wife Livia has unleashed an angry tirade on Gwyneth Paltrow, after the actor and wellness entrepreneur appeared in an advert for a housing development in Israel.
Ms Firth, 56, an environmental activist who advocates sustainability in the fashion industry, called out the Marty Supreme star for taking part in an advert promoting 51 Park, a 51-storey luxury housing complex in Herzliya, a city north of Tel Aviv.
The development is around 90 minutes’ drive away from Gaza, and the clip has provoked criticism online, with some social media users condemning Paltrow for publicising high-end property while conflict persists in the region.
Ms Firth, who was married to Ms Paltrow’s Shakespeare in Love co-star Colin from 1997 to 2019, revealed that she had “cancelled” the Goop founder’s upcoming visit to Quintosapore, the sustainable farm on the Tuscan-Umbrian border that she co-founded and runs with her brothers Alessandro and Nicola.

“I just cancelled Gwyneth Paltrow,” Livia said in an Instagram video. “She was supposed to come to the farm in a couple of weeks’ time on a tour, a soil-to-fork farm experience, and we just cancelled her because what she did is completely unacceptable.”

“Making an ad for a luxury condo is as disgusting as it can be for someone [with] privilege,” she added.
“How detached are you from reality? You’re either so detached that you need to be cancelled, because you live in another world, or you’re actually a really, really nasty person.
“Or you are stupid. Which are you, Gwyneth Paltrow?”

The Independent has contacted representatives for Paltrow for further comment.
Paltrow’s advert sees her get up for the day in a New York flat, before running in Central Park then getting in a taxi, telling the driver to take her to 51 Park.
He then asks her if she is talking about a place in New York, before she corrects him, stating that her destination is “Herzliya, Israel” and adding: “There’s a reason the world’s most iconic buildings are by a park.”
