Chipotle has introduced a limited-time taco deal at select restaurants nationwide.
The fast food chain is testing a new happy hour deal this week, offering a single taco with any form of protein for only $2.50. The item usually costs between $3.50 and $4.80, depending on the protein choice and Chipotle location.
However, the discounted taco will only be available on weekdays from 2 to 5 p.m. local time at select restaurants in Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Kansas City, Missouri; and Kansas City, Kansas. Customers in those cities only have until June 2 to take advantage of the offer, which is only valid for in-restaurant orders.
Add-ons like guacamole, queso blanco and more protein have an extra charge.
The special is part of the Power Up at Chipotle promotion, which “offers guests a new way to snack and recharge with real ingredients,” according to a recent press release.

“As more guests turn to restaurants for snacks, we’re looking at how Chipotle can fit into those moments,” Stephanie Perdue, Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing, Chipotle, said in a statement. “When many snacks rely on artificial ingredients, Chipotle offers a different kind of boost—real food made without shortcuts. Power Up at Chipotle makes it easy to grab something quick and satisfying, whether you’re heading to practice, between classes, or meeting up with friends.”
The happy hour deal comes after Chipotle recently upgraded some of its offerings in the U.S. In April, the company announced the overhaul of its rewards program, with the promise to “deliver more frequent rewards, greater flexibility and deeper everyday engagement for its 21 million members,” according to a statement at the time.
As part of the change, loyalty points do not expire as long as customers make one qualifying purchase of at least five dollars each year. There are also fewer points needed for reward redemptions, and new options such as a 50 percent discount on a single meal.
Meanwhile, the chain has been expanding its Zipline drone delivery service in Texas. Residents in North Fort Worth within about three miles of the 7400 block of North Beach Street can now order and receive their meals by drone, according to a recent earnings call.
During its launch in August 2025, the delivery program used Zipline’s Platform 2 drones, which are designed to operate in rain, heat and cold. The system was limited to lighter orders of up to five and a half pounds, with plans to eventually raise that capacity to eight pounds as the technology matures. Customers paid a $2.99 delivery fee, plus a 15 percent service fee that is capped at $6 per order.
