Chili’s lands hit-making pop star to bring back its popular ‘Baby Back Ribs’ jingle

“It’s about d**n time” the Baby Back Ribs jingle made its comeback.

Pop superstar Lizzo is on board to help Chili’s revive its iconic “Baby Back Ribs” song, reimagining the decades-old tune in a new marketing campaign launched Wednesday.

The original “I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs” jingle debuted in the late 1990s and quickly became one of the most recognizable restaurant ads of its era, cementing itself in pop culture through movies, TV shows and countless parodies over the years.

Lizzo recorded both an a cappella version of the jingle and what Chili’s calls a “Lizzo-fied” remix for the collaboration, blending the familiar chorus with new rap verses and her own spin on what “baby back, baby back” can mean.

One commercial features the classically trained flutist joking that she refused to sing the famous tune until she heard how much Chili’s was willing to pay her. She then breaks into a flute solo using a novelty rib-shaped flute.

Lizzo, whose new album “B***h” is set for release June 5, has long been vocal about her love for Chili’s.

In a statement, the four-time Grammy winner said childhood weekend trips to the chain made the collaboration especially meaningful.

“You may have even seen me dress up as a Fried Mozzarella cheese pull on Halloween — so when they reached out about collaborating, I couldn’t say yes fast enough,” Lizzo said in a statement about her 2025 costume. “I don’t think there’s a more memorable jingle, so when putting my own spin on it, I really wanted to honor that history while also making it feel fun and very me.”

The campaign arrives after Chili’s recently upgraded its Baby Back Ribs, which now feature meatier full and half-rack portions with up to 50 percent more meat and a new caramelized barbecue sauce crust, according to the chain.

Starting Wednesday, My Chili’s Rewards members can also enter a giveaway for a chance to win a limited-edition T-shirt signed by Lizzo, along with a Chili’s gift card.
