Brandi Glanville broke down while recently discussing a GoFundMe campaign set up to help cover her medical expenses, admitting she feels embarrassed to accept help from others.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 53, opened up during Friday’s episode of her podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, alongside co-host James Maas, where she explained how her ongoing health issues left her unable to work for two years and have drained her savings.
“Even with my insurance, it’s $7,000 a week and I have creditors calling me all day,” she told her co-host, James Maas.
The fundraiser was started by her friend Gina Rodriguez earlier this week, and several of Glanville’s former Real Housewives castmates have already contributed, including Kyle Richards and Claudia Jordan.
Glanville said she isn’t used to asking for help and felt hesitant about the fundraiser, but acknowledged she didn’t feel she had another option.
“I’m embarrassed, honestly, ‘cause I don’t like to ask for help,” Glanville went on. ‘And I never thought I would do this and she’s, like, ‘You have no choice.'”
“If I stop paying, I won’t get my medication and then I won’t make any progress. And right now, I paid half. I still owe them. I’m just spent, like, in every way. And I don’t want anyone to see it. But I don’t know what to do.”
Her co-host tried to soothe her by saying, “It’s not embarrassing. What’s embarrassing is the whole medical system.”
Glanville has spoken publicly about facial swelling and disfigurement since 2023, initially linking it to an incident while filming a Real Housewives spin-off. Over the past two years, she’s shared updates about worsening symptoms, including a suspected parasite and, more recently, symptoms spreading down her arm.
She recently revealed a series of diagnoses tied to her condition, including an antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection, a fungal infection known as Valley Fever, a mite-related skin condition, and mononucleosis.
