Karol G and Bruno Mars have released the official music video for their collaborative single Still, built entirely from footage captured during the song’s surprise live debut at Karol G’s SoFi Stadium concert on August 15.
Mars made a surprise appearance during the second of Karol G’s three sold-out Los Angeles shows, part of her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour, for the track’s first-ever live performance, which doubled as the video shoot.
Filmed largely in black and white before shifting to colour for the live stadium performance in front of more than 50,000 fans, the video shows the two artists in more intimate, candid moments backstage, laughing together in empty stadium seats, riding a go-kart through the venue, and trading lyrics back and forth in a green room before the show.
Karol, 35, wore a sparkling white dress for the performance, while Mars, 40, appeared in a flower-embroidered white suit and matching cowboy hat.
Still appears on Karol G’s sixth studio album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, and marks her first entirely English-language song.
She discussed the track’s origins in an August 7 TikTok, explaining that it found her organically rather than being a calculated crossover attempt.
“I feel like what happened with this song is that I really fell in love with it, and I really wanted to include a song in English on my album where I was speaking to a specific audience… I’ve always been open to making music in other languages without pressure, as long as it flows and happens organically and naturally and, well, that song found me. It expressed exactly what I was feeling and how I was feeling it.”
The song was written by Karol G alongside Mars, Alexandra Yatchenko, and Isabel and Thomas LaRosa, with Mars and Thomas producing alongside D’Mile.
Karol G’s stadium tour continues through October 15, while Mars’s tour in support of his album The Romantic resumes this weekend in Boston.
