Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of using King Charles ‘soft side’ for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their security demand.
The Sussexes’ return has become a topic of conversation in the town due to the confusing reports. Some said that their arrival in mid-July is confirmed, others claimed that Harry is reconsidering bringing his wife and kids to his homeland due to security concerns.
Daily Mail’s Richard Eden believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been emotionally blackmailing the monarch to reverse the taxpayer-funded police protection decision, which was denied.
He shared, “To me, this seems a bit of a trap, frankly. So let’s be clear about what’s happening. Harry and Megan are saying, ‘We will stay at a royal residence, but only if each time we leave with our children, we’re guaranteed security.’”
“So, last time Harry was here, last September, for example, he was given police protection when he carried out an engagement. On this occasion, they’ve got lots of different things they want to do, but they’re saying unless that’s guaranteed, we’re not going to stay with you,” the royal commentator explained.
Richard said that it feels like a “trap” set for the King, which might have created chaos inside the Palace. He added, “So there’s a lot of manipulation going on, and it’s all quite unedifying.”
Not only that, Harry and Meghan faced heat for using their children for the sake of receiving security during their UK trip.
He stated, “I’ve heard that they still haven’t had the assurances that they want in terms of security. So it’s not clear whether they will bring their children or not. So it does seem genuinely that they’re using the children, you know, sort of to put pressure on the king.”
