Janet Jackson is giving off her late brother Michael Jackson’s energy at the 2026 BET Awards as she walked the red carpet donning attire inspired by the King of Popstar’s style.
The five-time Grammy winner star made an announced appearance on Sunday at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
She apparently paid homage to her late brother by donning a black shirt, a white dress shirt underneath and paired it with baggy gray pants giving off Michaels 1991 track Black or White look.
Her shirt also had a graphic imprinted on it that read 2Pac, which is a nod to her late Poetic Justice costar Tupac Shakur.
Janet made the high profile appearance at Sunday’s show to present Teyana Taylor with the Icon of the Year award.
The 60-year-old singer-actress’s surprised appearance made Teyana burst into tears as she called Janet her “biggest inspiration.”
While Janet praised Teyana as “a testament to the greatest superhero the world will ever know: The Black woman.”
Janet’s appearance came after her sister LaToya Jackson revealed, Janet doesn’t want to be part of Michael Jackson’s biopic.
Back in April during the Los Angeles premiere of Michael she told Variety, “She kindly declined so you have to respect her wishes.”
However, LaToya told the outlet that she had been “supportive of” their nephew Jaafar Jackson, who portrayed Michael in the film.
