Inter-Madaris Sports Festival kicks off in Peshawar | The Express Tribune

Eight madrasa teams compete in football, cricket as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Sports organizes youth event


PESHAWAR:

The Inter-Madaris Sports Festival, organized by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Sports, officially commenced in Peshawar on Friday.

The festival features eight teams from various madaris, with four teams each competing in football and cricket. Football matches are being played at Tahmash Khan Football Stadium, while cricket matches are taking place at Gymkhana Cricket Stadium.

The formal inauguration was performed by Director Hayatabad Sports Complex, Salim Raza. He was accompanied by Director Sports Operations Jamshid Baloch, Organizing Secretary Mufti Faiz, Deputy Director Kashif Farhan, DSO Faisal Javed, Administrator Yusuf Afridi, Arshad Khan, and other notable figures.

Players have been provided with kits, daily allowances, and other necessary facilities. Mufti Faiz is serving as the Organizing Secretary for the event.

The closing ceremony will be held at Tahmash Khan Football Stadium, where Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider will grace the occasion as the chief guest and distribute trophies and prizes among the winning players.
