Princess Anne continues to carry out a demanding schedule of royal duties, stepping up to represent the Crown at home and abroad.
And while the Princess Royal prepares for her next journey to South Georgia, a touching moment from her recent South African visit has resurfaced.
UK in South Africa shared a photograph of Anne meeting Joseph Wilkinson and his family during her time in the country.
The Princess took the opportunity to hear the centenarian’s story and thank him for his service in the Royal Navy.
With Armistice Day approaching, the post paid tribute to all those who served, bringing attention to the personal stories behind the annual act of remembrance.
Anne met entrepreneurs involved in the UK-supported Township Digital Market Access programme, which helps small businesses in townships expand their reach and connect with new customers through online platforms.
The Princess Royal’s South African visit also included engagements celebrating the longstanding ties between the UK and the country.
In Paarl, she visited Varsfontein Stud to learn more about the equestrian connections between the two nations.
Earlier, Anne attended the 31st Commonwealth Agriculture Conference in Cape Town in her role as president of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth.
Hosted in Cape Town for the first time by Agri-Expo, the conference brought together representatives from across the Commonwealth.
