Resident Evil is almost ready to make another big mark at the box office.
The film is now just $600,000 away from passing Backrooms and becoming the second highest grossing horror film of 2026.
The latest Resident Evil movie earned around like $399.99 million all over the world after seven weekends in cinemas.
It has made $157.4 million in North America and another $242.6 million from other countries. Backrooms, whereas, is little ahead with $400.6 million but the gap between the two films is now very small.

Resident Evil, however, is still bringing people to cinemas as it made another $10 million over the past weekend alone.
The film appeared in 66 markets on more than 21,500 screens. This strong run can help it pass Backrooms within the next few days.
The film, moreover, already earned more than Sinners, The Nun and Weapons. It is now getting closer to The Exorcist, which made $430 million worldwide.

China brought in the most money, with $71.4 million. The UK has added $19.4 million, while Japan and Mexico have each made $12.7 million.
